Previous Game Backstory:
Canon History /// In the world of Kingdom Hearts, the concept of Somebodies as "real" people lies in the possession of the trinity of heart, body, and soul, together joined as one complete person. A Nobody, on the other hand, is a being that born from a person that possesses a body and soul, but lacks a heart. Naminé's birth as a Nobody, as unorthodox as Nobodies are in and of themselves, was even stranger than that, since she was born from two people instead of one.
The story begins with Sora's journey with his friends Donald and Goofy to find out what happened to his home the Destiny Islands after it had been engulfed by darkness. In an effort to find his best friend and rival Riku, Kairi, their mutal friend, got caught in the cross-fire. She lost her pure heart, and with its disappearance, she grew close to the verge of non-exsistence. Unbeknownst to him, it had hidden itself in Sora's heart; when confronted with the choice to lose his own humanity or save Kairi by returning her heart to her, Sora bravely relinquished his humanity to return it to her. Naminé was created in this moment, born from Sora's body and soul, which allowed her control over his memories and the memories of all those he was connected to; since she was also born from Kairi's heart, it gave her an uncanny likeness to her.
Naminé wasn't there to meet the two people she'd been born from; she didn't get to see Sora's bittersweet denouement of rescuing Kairi, but losing Riku. Instead, she somehow landed in the Castle Oblivion, where Organization 13, a group of exceptionally powerful Nobodies, had made their headquarters. Roxas, Sora's Nobody that had been born in the same instant as her, was also there. They made her their captive, and after luring Sora, Donald, and Goofy to the Castle in the middle of their new journey to find Riku, they forced her to manipulate Sora's memories so he would play right into the palms of their hands. Soon Sora was climbing the floors of Castle Oblivion in the belief that the precious person he needed to save at the top was Naminé, not Kairi. Naminé, having been lonely when she came to be in the world, allowed her desire to meet with Sora overrule her guilt for replacing Kairi in his memories, and does as Marluxia of the Organization 13 bid her when he asks her to implant fake memories into a replica Riku.
Naminé's conscience soon forced her to realize what her complacency and memory manipulation have done to Sora, and she ended up hinting to him that her true identity is not what he believes it to be. Before he could question her, the replica Riku appeared to challenge Sora, still under the influence of his implanted memories and believing that he was the one meant to protect Naminé. Sora ultimately won the fight thanks to Naminé's forceful breaking of the replica Riku's memories, and she was able to confess to Sora all that she'd done. She wasn't expecting forgiveness, but Sora gave it to her, though he was determined to reverse what she had done.
Now equally determined to help him and undo the damage she'd done, Naminé informed him that she was able to help him recover his lost memories, but only after he defeated Marluxia, who controlled Castle Oblivion and was a threat to their safety. After Sora left her with the unconscious Riku replica to search for Marluxia, she was captured by the man himself, and used as a hostage when Sora finally did arrive to defeat him. Marluxia tried to force Naminé to completely shatter Sora's memories, but she was unwilling to do so after the kindness that Sora had shown her. Despite death threats, she resolutely refused-- just as Marluxia was about to kill her in front of Sora, the recovered Riku replica arrived and guarded her as Sora, Donald, and Goofy headed into the final fight against Marluxia.
With Marluxia's defeat, Naminé was able to set up the process by which Sora would regain his memories. By sealing him and Donald and Goofy within crystal pods in stasis, she would slowly be able to undo the false chains of memories and recreate their true ones. The two bid each other farewell as Sora falls asleep, promising to meet again in the future.
Shortly after this, the real Riku appeared within the Castle, having wandered in the Realm of Darkness before finding his way to Castle Oblivion there. Naminé helped him confront and accept the darkness that was growing within him, encouraging him by taking on Kairi's likeness. Later, the two met in front of Sora's crystal pod. Naminé offered to seal him as she had done with Sora, so that she could do away with his darkness. Riku instead decided to face it head on. The mysterious DiZ, who seems to be working in Sora's interests, has the two of them move Sora, Donald, and Goofy to Twilight Town, as the Castle was not safe with still half of the Organization members still at large.
Some time passes, and Naminé realized that her work to try and recover Sora's memories was being slowed because some of his memories had been "leaked" and allowed to gain sentience in a form called Xion. Xion was made possible by the Organization's Superior, Xemnas, who was using her as a failsafe in case Roxas and Sora both ended up becoming useless to him in his quest to access Kingdom Hearts, the accumulation of all lost hearts. Naminé was the one to explain Xion's true nature as being an imperfect replica of Roxas, and was in part one of the people to convince her to merge back with Sora so he could regain all of his memories again. In a emotional confrontation, Roxas ends up being the one to absorb Xion, and it is this that leads to his leaving the Organization.
Now that Roxas encompassed half of the memories that Sora needed to recover, DiZ had Riku capture Roxas and bring him to a digitalized Twilight Town, where Roxas unknowingly stayed for some time, made to believe he'd been there his whole life. In truth, keeping him there was to speed along Sora's memory recovery, and to keep him complacent until he, too, would be absorbed back to his original self. Naminé, finding a sense of kinship in this confined Roxas, attempted to tell him of his true nature in the last few days of his existence as his own self. Deterred by DiZ and Riku on several attempts, she managed to finally tell him of his true nature, promising that even if he joined back with Sora, he would still be his own self, and that they would meet again. Roxas is then quietly absorbed, and Naminé's job is completed, with some bittersweetness.
DiZ, finding no use for Naminé now that Sora was back to normal, told Riku to dispose of her. Riku instead leaves her in the care of Axel, Roxas' best friend back when they were both in the Organization. She laid low for most of Sora's awakening, journey, and efforts to take down the Organization once and for all. When Kairi was taken to the World that Never Was stronghold, though, she used her powers to break her out, taking her to where Sora and Riku were. She disappeared for the duration of the boys' fight with Xemnas, reappearing after his (first) defeat to say a final farewell to everyone before she joined back with Kairi. She was also able to speak to Roxas again, and the two agreed that though they wouldn't be independent any longer, they had gotten to meet their original selves, and they had the satisfaction in knowing that not all Nobodies succumb to the darkness.
With the Nobodies joined back with their Somebodies, Sora and Riku proceeded to take down Xemnas' last attempt at destroying them. Then Sora, Riku, and Kairi are finally reunited at their home of Destiny Islands-- Naminé and Roxas are last seen smiling at each other through Kairi and Sora's selves. Not soon after, Naminé (now residing within Kairi as part of her) saw Sora off as he journeyed to help those who need him to save them.
Previous Game History /// Shortly after watching Sora leave, Naminé was suddenly transported into the Facility, a building run by the mysterious Consortium and overseen by its AI Val. Naminé quickly learned that the Consortium collected people like her from all reaches of time and space, cloned them, and left them in the Facility in order to be experimented on in various cruel ways, and not even death was assured. Amongst other things, she was forced into self-harm, pushed into confronting her inner conflicts amidst death traps, killed a couple of times, lived another life, lived out a childhood, found and lost friends and love, fought in a war, learned to be stronger, and even gained scars both emotional and physical along the way.
For a year and a half she lived this life, week after week of mental, physical, and emotional torture was made bearable only by the presence of many of her friends from Destiny Island and Twilight Town, as well as the friends she made at Facility. Naminé eventually learned to embrace her new life outside of Kairi's existence, despite how wretched being in the Facility could be. When she is pulled from the Facility, she had just celebrated her second 'birthday' there.

Canon Standing: During the Birth by Sleep ending Blank Points.
Personality:
Before, Naminé was a meek, timid, and almost pitiful thing. Being bullied by Marluxia, Larxene, and the others at Castle Oblivion no doubt suppressed whatever self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-worth she likely inherited from the strange occurrence of her creation. Shut away from the rest of the Nobodies and of humanity, she became lonely and was manipulated or felt pressured to obey the other Nobodies' bidding-- it wasn't until Sora came and forgave her for the things she did that she started forgiving herself a little, and started to work towards fixing her mistakes. A year after Castle Oblivion was brought down by Sora's Keyblade, Naminé took measures to ensure that he would win in the fight against Xemnas, aiding Roxas, supporting Riku, and freeing her other self Kairi from imprisonment in order to provide Sora with the backup he needed for the battle.
In the year leading up to these events, the changes in her personality were subtle, yet significant. Her reserved nature caused by the abuse in Castle Oblivion will never truly leave her, but being subjected to loneliness and pain allowed her to feel the same things in others, and now she has an uncanny knack for knowing when others are in emotional turmoil. While her words aren't always the comforting that others are looking for, they often carry a sense of truth to them. Being able to sense these feelings in others has given her a stronger reason and desire to speak, and so instead of being a recluse like before, she is instead more soft-spoken-- demure, gentle, but honest (almost blunt, sometimes). Naminé is more assured of herself, more willing to allow herself to live and feel, whether it is happiness or pain. By the time she is whisked to the Facility, she is starting to learn how to stand up for herself, and work to protect others' futures as well as try to find her own.
After she joined with Kairi again, Naminé had come to terms with her role, and herself. She realized that she wasn't quite a Nobody, and she wasn't quite a Somebody-- but rather, some sort of being in between that can understand both the light and the darkness of people's hearts. She understood her role as a guide to the others: calm, kind, and encouraging even as her personality receeded into Kairi, and it is this personality that surfaces when she emerges again.
Key Personality Differences:
• She knows that she is a clone of the real Naminé, and has come to terms with that. She sees her existence as an opportunity to live out her own life to the fullest, separate from Kairi.
• She has matured greatly, and is older and wiser. She is more determined, driven, confident, outspoken. She is no longer a push-over.
• Weeks of torture have hardened her previously gentle personality somewhat. There can be a distinctive edge to the way in which she holds herself-- most often apparent when she takes up arms to protect her friends and family.
• She thinks like a warrior now, when she has to.
• Being able to spend time with Kairi and other healthy female sister figures has allowed her to explore a maternal, feminine side of herself as well. She can be, I daresay, sassy.
Canon Powers:
Because she trained with Aqua, many of her spells and abilities technically reflect Aqua's style of fighting. Generally, though, Naminé has adapted many of her powers to accommodate her unique fighting style that uses Keyblade, magic, and her archer's bow all at once.

Previous Game Differences:
Physical Differences
• She is older than her KH2 self by one year.
• She has numerous scars on her body. The major ones include one across her throat, a stylized swirl pattern on her left arm, and several across her back and both of her thighs.
• She is blind in her left eye.
• She is more toned and muscular than she was in canon.
• She has a collar around her throat. It was the Facility's way of keeping their experiments' powers in check, but the limiters on the collar will be deactivated in Hinoto-Ri. It cannot, however, be removed, as it was designed to critically and sometimes fatally harm the wearer if he or she tried to remove it.
• As a clone, she is genetically unstable and is prone to "clone sickness", which sometimes causes her to fall into a deep coma for indeterminable lengths of time.
Ability Differences
• She is a competent mage, with general knowledge of all magics and a specialty in Blizzard magics.
• She knows how to use a Keyblade, and is a competent melee fighter.
• She trained with Aqua at Facility, and knows how to use Command Forms, Shotlocks, and other combo finish moves.
• She trained with the Young Avenger known as Hawkeye (Kate Bishop), and knows how to use a bow and arrow.
Relationship Differences
• She met Terra, Aqua, and Ven.
• She and Riku Replica (Mera) had a relationship until he was terminated at Facility.
• She recognizes Facility's Sora and Riku, and Axel/Lea and Roxas as being married.
• She knows the backgrounds of several close friends that she has made in the Facility. She is also very knowledgable about the Soul Eater and Avatar: The Last Airbender canons, as the Canon Swap experiment caused her to believe she had grown up in those canons.
Canon Standing: During the Birth by Sleep ending Blank Points.

Inherent Powers
• Memory Manipulation [Mind] -- Naminé's abilities of memory manipulation stem from her strange origins, and are very specific, limited to only a certain group of people. Only Sora or people who have been in contact with him can be affected by her memory manipulation (considering how many people Sora has met on his journeys, though, this amount of people can be more widespread and vast in numbers than one would think). Her powers allow her to create, destroy, and modify any memory of this group of people. To what extent that she can completely do so, however, depends on how close to Sora that person is, and vice versa.
• Connection with her Friends [Mind] -- It's not just an idealistic view on friendship. As outlined above, Naminé is connected to Sora's heart, and by extension she can "sense" the presence of many of his closest friends, allies, and even enemies who also have a strong bond or influence on Sora's heart. This list includes Riku, Roxas, Xion, Terra, Ven, and Aqua.
• Connection to Kairi [Mind] -- Being Kairi's Nobody allows Naminé to "sense" her presence along with the rest of their friends, but their link also allows Naminé to accurately feel or guess at Kairi's thoughts and feelings as well, if they are strong or intense enough.
• Corridors of Darkness [Dark] -- As a Nobody, she is connected to the Darkness, and is thus capable of opening these corridors that allows her to move over long distances in a short amount of time.
